O Skylux Building da Engepoli, located in Colombo, PR, achieved LEED Platinum certification in the Operation and Maintenance for Existing Buildings category, obtaining a score of 85 points, one of the highest indexes in the LEED standard.

A sustainable space in every respect
At Skylux Building, every detail has been designed to reduce environmental impact and maximize the use of natural resources:
Water Efficiency
Three of the five toilets have reduced-flow fixtures and fittings, as well as a rainwater harvesting system for reuse.
Energy and Climate
The project makes the most of natural lighting and ventilation, eliminating the use of air conditioning and integrating photovoltaic systems for intelligent artificial lighting.
Materials and resources
Construction with reused and regional materials, reducing waste and transport gas emissions. Construction waste has been properly disposed of or recycled.
LEED Platinum certification
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification is one of the most recognized and rigorous environmental certifications in the world, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). This seal is awarded to buildings that meet the highest standards of sustainability, energy efficiency, use of resources and environmental quality.
Obtaining LEED certification means that a building has been designed and operated with green building practices, reducing environmental impact to a minimum. There are different levels of LEED certification – Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum – which reflect the sustainable performance of the building.
